Six hands-on, experimental-cum-experiential play zones for two- to 10-year-olds, housed in the basement of the Cunard Building, on the River Mersey waterfront. In the Construction Zone, you load barrows, build houses and construct motor cars. In the Imagination Zone, you get your own lifelike pet dog to look after. In the Craft Zone, the children make things following a theme (such as Mexican sombreros and ponchos), in the Laboratory Zone they learn about magnetism and spinning tops. Each zone is allocated its own resident teacher/facilitator, so that experiments are given direction (emphasis on personal contact rather than hi-tech gizmos).
